We are thrilled to announce that we’ve made significant upgrades to CookieScan, enhancing its capabilities to fully support Google Consent Mode v2. These improvements are designed to help you maximise the value of your website’s analytics and advertising, while ensuring full compliance with users' consent preferences.
What’s New?
-
Full Support for Google Consent Mode v2
Google Consent Mode allows you to adjust how Google tags behave based on the user’s consent status. Now, with CookieScan, even if users opt out of certain categories (like analytics or marketing), your site can continue to collect non-identifying data and display untargeted adverts, ensuring you don’t miss out on key tracking data or advertising revenue. -
Before: All data or ads were disabled until the user opted in.
- Now: Aggregated statistics can still be collected, and adverts can be displayed without user targeting, maintaining compliance while optimising data collection and revenue opportunities.
-
New Features
We’ve added several key features to make CookieScan even more powerful. Update your template from the Google Tag Manager gallery today. - Ability to set default consent by region, giving you more control over how consent is handled across different jurisdictions.
-

- Turn Google Consent Mode on/off depending on your requirements.
-
Support passing ad click information through URLs to improve ad click measurement quality and analytics.
-

- Links to documentation for both Google Consent Mode and the updated Tag Manager features, giving you easy access to the resources you need.
-
