Deny by Default approach to blocking cookies from the same domain

In the interest of security and compliance, CookieScan implements a Deny-by-Default approach to blocking third-party cookies which originate from the same domain. 

This means that CookieScan will block all cookies, including necessary cookies which originate from the same domain as cookies which reside in categories which have not been allowed. 

This is not a limitation of CookieScan, but a limitation of how third-party cookies can be blocked. You can still fine-tune which cookies are allowed and blocked via the Google Tag Manager integration or JavaScript API.

To see which cookies are affected, please browse to the 'Manage Domain' in the CookieScan portal and look for cookies in the 'Scanned Cookies' list which have an exclamation mark by their name.

Note.

Sometimes there will be cookies in different categories which share the same 'Domain'. In this case, we group the cookies together by the most common, non-necessary category. Blocking and allowing of these cookies is then handled by blocking or allowing that particular category. 

Please ensure that you have the correct 'Domain' for the cookie. If you believe it should be different, please contact us in the first instance.
